“Improvement is a long-standing tradition of the Hoffman Estates Cross Country program,” said Head Girls Cross Country Coach Kirk Macnider.

The hundreds of miles that are invested each and every year allow our Hawks to succeed. Meagan Biddle has put in over 1000 miles and has run through illnesses and rough stretches. Her patience and perseverance has paid off.

The three-time conference medalist, regional medalist, and now for the third year in a row, state qualifier, will be running for Illinois State University in the fall.

Biddle’s hard work and dedication attracted the attention of Illinois State University, Texas A&M, Western Michigan, and many more Division I schools. In the end however, she chose to stay close to home.

“The decision was tough, but I think ISU will give me the best opportunity to succeed,” Biddle said.  Coach Macnider thinks that Biddle will excel at ISU.

“Meagan’s personal best track times are not only some of the best in school history; they rank her among the very best in the state of Illinois,” said Macnider.

Biddle’s outstanding times show that she has the ability to develop into an elite runner at the NCAA Division 1 level.

“ISU is an outstanding fit for Meagan, and her new coach, Jeff Bovee, has developed athletes just like Meagan all the way to the NCAA All-American and Olympic Trials level,” Macnider said.

Biddle reflected on her season and is optimistic about the future.

“The memories I made with these girls will never be forgotten. I am going to be ready for my final year of track, and I can’t wait to be a Redbird.”
