Boys golf team starts off strong

The 2022-2023 boys golf season is off to a great start. The Hoffman Estates High School team is quite strong.

“The team this year is pretty close,” said Bruce Okada, sophomore. Okada has been on the team for two years.

The team has many returning players but a good amount of new athletes as well. For the beginning of a new year, it is great for students to get involved in sports and activities early on such as golf.

As of September 15, the JV and Varsity teams both had two wins. On September 22, the team participated in a day-long tournament as well and placed 10th.

Practicing together everyday and traveling to events has helped the team bond. “It’s a very cool group of guys to play with,” said Colin Schoewe, freshman.

With a close-knit and successful team, the future of the rest of the season is looking bright for the Hawks. It is attainable for each and every player to grow in different ways as the season progresses.
