Between football and track, J’Mari Jackson stays busy doing what he loves to do; using his skills to compete and represent Hoffman Estates High School athletically. Jackson has been playing football and running track throughout his entire high school career, and he has not only made a large impact in these areas, but they have impacted him, as well.
“Doing sports at HEHS kind of shaped me as a person. They shaped my personality,” said Jackson.
For Jackson, being a part of the HEHS community means much more than going to school and playing sports; the incredibly diverse community is something that he has grown to appreciate and teaches him skills you can’t learn in a classroom.
“Like being around a whole bunch of different people, personalities, and ethnicities, taught me how to act around certain people,” said Jackson.
It is this understanding of those around him that makes him stand out as a leader on and off the field.
Jackson’s high school career, so far, is riddled with millions of small moments of brilliance in big games and meets that build him up into an amazing athlete. Making it to state during his sophomore year will be a moment he’ll never forget.
As for the future, Jackson plans to use all the lessons he has learned as a student, a football player, and as a sprinter, in college to study accounting.
Jackson works hard everyday to be a humble, inspiring, and hardworking person throughout all of his endeavors. As a member of the HEHS Homecoming Court, Jamari says he would proud to represent his school.
“I feel good doing what I do around the school,” said Jackson.
