Hoffman Estates High School’s annual talent show took place last week, highlighting a variety of talents from students. From melodious singing to dancing bananas (yes, you read that right), the talent show surely had it all.
“When I stepped out on that stage this year, I felt like a new person,” said Evan Jensen, senior.
Jensen has been performing in the talent show since he was a sophomore and expresses how much he has enjoyed being part of it every year and how it has greatly contributed to his personal growth as a performer.
“I love being able to see everyone come out and watch the show,” said Jensen, grateful for all of the support received.
In addition to the multitude of impressive performances, a highlight was Kendall Burdick, senior, and Molly Conway, sophomore, dancing to the Cupid Shuffle while dressed as bananas. Burdick and Conway took their act to the next level by recruiting English Teacher Jason Stevens and Principal Mike Althur to perform alongside them. Both were eager to take on the role.
“I was shocked and amazed at the professionalism that my partners brought to the performance,” said Stevens after performing Thursday night. “It was a great time and I was honored to be asked to do it.”
All of the performers take time and effort in preparation for the talent show, perfecting their acts and consistently seeking their greatest potential on stage.
“As performers, we have to rapidly keep adjusting to the climate,” said Saad Kahn, senior, addressing the mentalities of singers while performing–always needing to be precise and on-key.
The talent show never fails to be a memorable part of the year here at Hoffman and serves as an opportunity for everyone to showcase their unique talents.
“The energy and the joy that both our audience and performers bring to the show is super fun,” said Stevens.
