A. Gierczak will be playing Peter Pan, the lead character, in the upcoming HEHS production of Peter Pan.

This acting role “…is fun and not serious. [It is] very lighthearted, something both the cast and audience would really enjoy.”

Gierczak, who gained stage experience in the productions of Metamorphosis and High School Musical, is filled with excitement about being cast for the first time in a lead role.

“The cast and tech [crew] is like one large, welcoming family. I love having the opportunity to be a part of that community,” said Gierczak.

Being a part of a production can be challenging. There are lines to learn and sword fight choreography to master. In fact, Peter Pan will square off with Captain Hook played by Hope Miner.

While this may be difficult, it’s still Gierczak’s favorite part of being in Peter Pan. “It’s a different and unique experience. Definitely not what I was expecting out of a play though.”

Theater may have just become a major part of Gierczak’s life, but “now that I’m here, I’m here to stay.”

Come see A. Gierczak and the rest of the cast of Peter Pan at 7 p.m. on April 21st and 22nd in the Hoffman Estates Auditorium. Tickets are $5 and the cast is eager to take you into Neverland.
