Variety Show Preview: Mike Hailu to perform spoken word

Q: What is your talent?
A: I will be speaking the song “Stop This Train” by John Mayer.
Q: What made you want to do the Variety Show?
A: It was my senior year and a lot of my friends were in it for the past three years, so I asked myself, “Why not?” I realized I have nothing to lose.
Q: What kind of practice schedule are you keeping?
A: None at all if I’m being honest. My audition was sheer improvisation, so I’m going to practice a lot more during this upcoming dress rehearsal week but, until then, I haven’t practiced anything at all.
Q:When will you know you’re ready for the Variety Show?
A: I’ll know I’m ready for the Variety Show probably the night of the first show. Knowing myself I’ll be kinda nervous up until the last moment. That’s when I shake my nerves off and go give it my all. I might completely forget who I am and what I’m doing on the stage but, hey, I tried and had fun and that’s what matter.
