This year’s musical, Chicago, will entertain and inform. The musical begins this Wednesday and is not one to miss.
“This show is something that no school in D211 has done before,” said Andrew Luswick, a senior and a lead actor. “With mature themes like murder and adultery and the power to explore the crookedness of the criminal justice system, accompanied by a fantastic musical score, this will be a show that no one will want to miss.”
Seeing the show is a great way to support all the students who have worked so hard on it for the past couple months, from the tech crew working behind the scenes to the actors who shine on stage. The entire cast and crew have expressed their excitement at being able to share the work they’ve done and the progress they’ve made.
“It’s very fun to do this musical as it’s my first. I feel that it is helping me improve my skills in lighting and helping me correct my mistakes,” said Bella Myska, a sophomore and lighting designer for the show. “I’m preparing by making sure that the color schemes make sense and receiving feedback from the directors.”
The show will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4. Additional performances will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 5 through Saturday, March 7.
