Swim team gears up for state competition

Hoffman Estates High School’s Boys swimming and diving team have been working hard to be their best in this 2022 season.

“Our swim team has shown major success, whether it be in practice, or in meets,” said Daniel Lopez, sophomore.

Because in swimming players can beat their own personal time, it allows for heightened competition, unlike other sports.

“Swimming allows me to beat others and myself,” said Timmy Talatov, freshman.

Being a better swimmer means that hard work needs to be put in. “Swimming is a sport where you win not in competition, but all the weeks prior to the competition. We as a team have made it clear that we need to work hard to have a chance to win,” said Lopez.

The team is now gearing up for the state championship meet, where they hope to make a strong showing against some of the top teams in the state.

“We are ready to give it our all and make a splash at the state championship,” said Talatov.
