Cross country is a sport in which teams and individuals run a race on open-air courses over natural terrain. Whether that be gravel paths, grass hills, or mud pits, our boys cross country team continues to stay goal-oriented and focused on success.

Early in the season, our team placed third at the Lake Park Harvey Braus invitational, third at the Peoria Central invitational, and also won the Macnider invitational. In three short years, the Hoffman’s Boys’ Cross Country team went from 0-5 in the MSL West four years ago to MSL West champions today.

This is the first time in school history Boys’ Cross Country has won the MSL West, which consists of Palatine, Barrington, Fremd, Conant, and Schaumburg. Barrington, Conant, and Palatine are all ranked in the top 25 in the state; therefore, evolving from 0 and 5 was certainly no easy feat.

With some serious hard work put in during the summer, the boys have accomplished what no other boys team in school history has ever done. The team has been running since early June, both mornings and afternoons, and will continue to make its way through the postseason. With state on the horizon, the team will continue to push forward and keep the positive momentum going.
