Healthcare club offers real-world opportunities

Anbar Zaheed, Staff Writer

Have you ever seen students wear bright red sweatshirts that read Healthcare Club across the front and wondered what the club was all about?

You may have assumed that the club focuses on all aspects of health and nutrition; however, that is not the case. Healthcare Club was created to assist and give information to students interested in pursuing careers in the medical and healthcare fields. The club has vastly changed within the past three years, due to more students taking an interest in it.

As of this year, Healthcare Club is hosting many visits to various hospitals and facilities, which offers students hands-on experience. The club is also bringing in guest speakers to talk to students about medical occupation topics and give them information based on what they aspire to be in the future.

Healthcare Club works to help students learn about the medical field by completing medical-related service projects and having discussions during each meeting. The number one goal this year is to learn and encourage each member of the club to succeed at HEHS and beyond.

For more information about how you can become a member, you can talk to the Healthcare Club President Neha Patel (’16) or Helen Henderson in the College and Career Resource Center.
